Mince pies |
Strangely as it may sound, mince pies are sweet pies and in the UK Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas unless you have at least one during the holiday season. Although the more traditional recipe includes the use of some sort of meat on them, nowadays it is easy to find lots of versions without any animal products. These little pies have a buttery crust with a filling of dried fruit compote that includes raisins, cherries and apples, although other variations exist.
