Lets take a peek. Shall we?
My studio desk, where I decoupage my ART onto wood items. |
A view of a typical day in the studio, my desk / table changes every day. |
Another view, I am constantly moving things around as need ... |
The other side of my studio, where I keep books, Toys and supplies that inspire me. |
In my Studio
by Walter Silva
Every day and every week is never the same...
This week I created a order for a boutique in Providence, Rhode Island U.S.A that specializes in re-cycled and Up-cycled Art.
I will show you how I made some of my 2x2" Inch square Magnets... Made from recycled Wine Boxes
from all over the world.
I deconstruct the boxes and then cut them into 2"X2" blocks of wood.
Then I drill a cavity in the back center to hold a (glued) magnet, this makes the Magnet stronger.
Then I have my illustrations printed professionally on a big sheet of paper and I cut the ART to 2"X2" size of the wood blocks.
I always cut these by hand very relaxing... And enjoy coffee while doing this task.
In this step I have my cut Wood blanks, my Cut ART and I am ready to decoupage.
Let them dry and then insert a magnet with industrial glue...
The final results are very pleasing! I love making ART items for the Home or Office made from repurposed materials.
These magnets are great for Magnetic Memo Boards, the Refrigerator and File cabinets in a Home/ Office environment.
And that is what I do some days...
Some weeks I design, then next week I fabricate, Then I photograph (The hardest Part) and list.
Thanks for visiting.
